Rosa was born in Mirafores, Lima Peru in Nov. of 1958. She grew up, attending a girls school until graduation. After a few years of working various jobs she finally started her own business, designing and selling custom jewelry to individuals who spread her reputation by word of mouth. Married in her early 20's to Cesar Fernandez, she had one daughter. Shortly after her daughter was born the couple separated. For over 20 years she raised her daughter Ximena, never attempting to remarry for over 20 years. In 2006 she met Michael Story online via a introduction service. Michael was almost ten years older but that didn't faze her. After two years of off and on again contact, they met face to face in Salvador de Bahia, Brazil, with subsequent meetings in Lima, through out 2008 and 2009, until she moved to Texas. They married in Burleson, Texas in Dec. 2009 and made their home in Burleson, Texas until April 2020 when they moved to Laguna Vista, Texas near the Texas gulf coast. In 2012 Rosa was diagnosed with breast cancer and after many years of chemical treatments she realized she was nearing the end of life due to the cancer and wanted to be near the ocean, therefore her husband sold his home and they moved. The last year for her, 2022, was difficult as the cancer had spread into her lungs and apparently into her brain. Finding it hard to breath she was put on oxygen 24 hrs a day and her mental functions were degrading. Wanting to see her brothers and other family members, her husband and daughter arranged for her to travel to Peru. She saw her family, friends from her life there and then passed away nearly 3 weeks after arriving.
