Rose Ella Rodden was born on November 23, 1906, in Scottsboro, Alabama to parents John William Rodden (1876-1947) and Nancy L Hall (1882-1921). She had siblings J Alfred (1901-1936), Carroll Jackson (1903-1989), Elijah D (born 1910), and Thomas Foster Roden (1912-2006). They grew up in Marion, Tennessee and Hollywood, Jackson, Alabama, USA. She married William C. Turner (1877-1961) on September 16, 1922 in Lincoln County, Tennessee, USA and they had two children together, Nannie B Turner (1923-2013) and Jesse Clifton Turner (1927-1952). The family lived in Chattanooga, Hamilton, Tennessee, USA. She and William divorced soemtime before 1930, and she also had one daughter from another relationship. Rose Ella died on August 20, 1993, in Pasco, Florida, at the age of 86, and was buried at the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery in Rossville, Georgia.
