People named Sallie Shallen

Sallie was spirited, outspoken, and not afraid to laugh! She was a country girl from the south who made her way up to Washington DC and who married a Jewish man named Avery Shallen. They had no children, but she left us all a generous gift when she passed away! Because she had no children and few to remember her or visit her grave, I planted a rose bush by it one year when visiting. My paternal Grandmother (A.G.'s wife) kept it alive and well for several years. To this day, I place flowers at my Aunt Sallie's grave and wish I had known her life story in her own words!

Sallie Elizabeth (Sheffield) Shallen of Hollywood, Broward County, FL was born on March 23, 1911, and died at age 81 years old in August 1992.
