Her Brothers were Wayne Carlson Sr., Malvin Carlson, Kent Carlson and Lawrence Carlson. Shirley was a devoted wife to her husband and his caretaker when he became ill. She was involved in many polictical and social clubs. Vernon Policeman's Wives Club, Cystic Fibrosis Canvessing, She was affiliated with the Democratic Party and served many times in local election campaigns to support the candidate she felt would do the best job. Anyone who knew Shirley would say she was a beautiful woman inside and out. A beautiful smile and a hearty laugh. She was genuine, fair, honest and strong. She was a graduate of Manchester High School in Manchester, Ct.
