Thomas and Maud were parents to Gwendoline Edith Saltwell. She was born in 1921 in Billericay, Essex and passed away at ten years old in 1931 in Bridgewater, Victoria.
Thomas W Saltwell was born on January 11, 1895 in Renssalaer, Indiana, USA to parents Johann Friedrich "John" Saltwell/Soltwedel (1859-1938) and Elisabeth Sophie Luise Friederike Weltzin (1860-1926). He had siblings Meta (1883-1959), John (1884-1965), Friedrich (1887-1964), and Harry Saltwell (1892-1960).
On December 22, 1917 he married Alvina A Eggert (1898–1981) in Winamac, Indiana, United States. The couple resided in White Post, Pulaski, Indiana, USA where Thomas worked as a farmer.
The couple had a daughter together, Margene Vivian Saltwell (1924-1997).
