Tommie Lee Suber
An American Radical prominent in the anti-Vietnam war movement in Detroit. President of the Wayne State University Chapter of SDS and the Wayne State Committee to End the war in Vietnam. Became an anti- Vietnam activist after attending the first teach-in on the Vietnam war at the University of Michigan in his senior year in high school. Participated that same year in 1965 in a sit-in at the draft board in Ann Arbor Michigan. Latter became a a militant union organizer after the winding down of the war in Vietnam. Received an appointment to work in the Department of Social Services in 1972 and latter worked for the Ohio Department of Human Services before becoming a full time organizer. Tommie Suber has always worked as an agent of social change wherever he found himself. Tommie Suber always had a strong sense of right/wrong and justice. When three years old Tommie told his mother he was leaving home as a result of a perceived wrong by his father. Tommie Suber peddled off on his tricycle but belatedly realized he did not know how to get to his grandmother's house which was his chosen destination. After some time he reached the conclusion his parents had been punished sufficiently and pedalled home once again.
