Velma A Rorabaugh's father was John Phipps. Her mother was Lessie Virginia (Perry) Phipps. Lessie died when she was 27 years old. Velma, 3, had one sister, Vera, 3 months old, when their mother died.
Velma married Harold S. Rorabaugh on June 28, 1941 in Phoenix Arizona and they had children Janet and Joan. When they married, Harold said that he lived in Bloomington, California and Velma said that she lived in Del Rosa, California.
In 1942, Harold and Velma were living in San Bernardino California and Harold was an attendant at a Standard gas station.
Almost ten years later, Harold, 28, and Velma, 26, were living in Centinela, Los Angeles county, California, with their two daughters, Janet (6) and Joan (3). Velma was a housewife and Harold wasn't working.
