William Eugene "Bill" DeLashmit is the son of Elmer Eugene "Gene" Delashmit (1912-1986) and Margaret Irene Fenton (1914-1996). He was born on March 26, 1938 and had one sister, Bettie Jo (Delashmit) Wheeler (1939-2019). Bill DeLashmit was born and raised in Newburg, Phelps, Missouri, USA, but he moved to Rolla, Missouri, USA to attend the University of Missouri (UMR). However, he dropped out of school and joined the USAF, and was sent to Lackland AFB, San Antonio, Bexar, Texas, USA for Basic Training. He was then sent to language school in Syracuse, NY for Bulgarian, subsequently working as a Bulgarian linguist. From 1962-1964, he worked in Karamürsel, Kocaeli, Turkey, before being honorably discharged. He then returned to the USA to continue his education. In 1967, he graduated from UMR with a BS in Geology. After his graduation, he worked at the National Security Agency (NSA) in Fort Meade, Maryland, USA, as a civilian Bulgarian linguist from about 1968-1977. It was at the NSA in 1972 where he met his future wife, LT Mary Mathews Fisher, USN, who worked as a Russian linguist and analyst. Bill and Mary got married in 1973 in Milton, Norfolk, Massachusetts, USA, and they resided in Silver Springs, Maryland, USA, from about 1973-1977. They then lived in Bridgewater, NH, from about 1977-2001, where in 1988 they had their only child, a son, William Lamar DeLashmit. In New Hampshire, Bill started working as a Realtor, specializing in Real Property Appraisals. He was also chosen as one of the five Real Estate Commissioners for the State of NH in 1996, which he did alongside his regular work until the end of his life. On May 21, 2001, he passed away from complications of polycystic kidneys, which he had had all his life.

William Delashmit of Covington, Tipton County, Tennessee was born on April 12, 1886, and died at age 91 years old in May 1977.
