William Earl Gratzinger Aug 20, 1927 - Jul 12, 2019 Westmoreland, Pennsylvania, United States

William Earl Gratzinger was born on August 20, 1927 in Mount Pleasant, PA to parents William Edward Gratzinger (1905-1954) and Anna Elizabeth Hoyman (1905-1975). He had three siblings including Robert Gratzinger (1930-2006) and Louis Marie Gratzinger (1936-2012). Bill was a graduate of the former Ramsay High School and had attended Waynesburg College. He served in the US Army and was a veteran of World War II. Bill served on the Mt. Pleasant Police Department and held the position of chief of police for many years. He also was a life member of the MPVFD, where he also served as the fire chief. After his retirement from the police force, Bill served as personnel director for the Seven Springs Resort for more than 20 years.

William Carl Gratzinger is the son of George William Gratzinger (1896-1962) and Ora Jennette Stouffer (1900-1956). He was born on January 30, 1924 in Bridgeport, PA and grew up in a large family with siblings including Margaret Fern, George Robinson, Caroline, Ruth Jeanette, Hazel Louise, Helen Naomi, Richard Eugene, Ronald Herbert, Donald Gilbert, Edwin Ross, and James Howard Gratzinger. On July 20, 1957, when he was 33 years old, William married Jo Ann Green in Winchester, Virginia, USA. Together the couple had three children.
