    Elizabeth (Hughes) Duncan was born on November 29th, 1915 in Northern Ireland to Edward "Pappy" Hughes (1880 - 1968) and Elizabeth Sheridan (1886 - 1938) and she had siblings Margaret, Alice, Mary, Edward, James, John, Patrick, Vincent, Thomas, and Kevin and one more brother who died as an infant. Elizabeth Hughes married William Erskine Duncan (1916 - 1996) on November 12th, 1937 in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania and they had eight children: four daughters, including Suzanne (1939 - 2022); and four sons, including William (1948 - 2014) and James (1948 - 1991).     ELIZABETH DUNCAN Elizabeth Hughes Duncan, who was active as an intermediary for adoptions, died yesterday at Jefferson Hospital after a heart attack. Mrs. Duncan, 74, of Glassport immigrated to the United States from Ireland at age 7. Her family estimates that she was involved in the placement of more than 3,000 adopted children. She is survived by her husband, William Erskine Duncan; four daughters, Suzanne Keller-Taylor of Elizabeth Township, Catherin Kyslinger-Ewing of Monroeville, Kathleen Duncan of Glassport and Mary Lee Dill of Clairton; four sons, William A. Duncan of White Oak, Joseph A. Duncan of South Borough, Mass., James Dill of Long Beach, Calif., and Hugh Dill of New York City; a sister, Mary Decima of Clairton; and four brothers, John Hughes of El Cajon, California, Vince Hughes of Akron, Ohio, Keven Hughes of Versailles and Thomas Hughes of Burbank, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 pm today and tomorrow at E.C. Finney Funeral Home Inc., 235 Monongahela Ave., Glassport. A memorial service will be held at 10 am in St. Cecilia Roman Catholid Church, Glassport. Mrs Duncan Was My God Mother,I always remember her being such a nice person when I was young. She had Adopted out A Sister Of Mine 64 yrs ago, 8 yrs ago that sister found me and family but their are so many unanswered questions, which we have not had anything answered from our birth mother and probably never will.So If Anyone Can Give Any Information Or Point Me in the right direction it would be appreciated! I’m looking for the daughter I gave up for adoption 50 years ago.
I stayed with Mrs. Elizabeth Duncan of Glasport PA in 1974. I was referred to her by Catholic Charities for private adoption services. My daughter was born on July 2, 1974 at Magee Women’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I named her “Jennifer” though I don’t know if she kept that first name. My maiden name was “Ticjak”. I was 22 years old when Jennifer was born. Now, I’m 72; nearly the age that Mrs. Duncan was when she died. Mrs. Duncan provided a great and selfless service I wish only that counseling services had been provided to birth mothers making such a permanent and momentous decision at such a very sensitive time. Please help me find my daughter.

From adopted children finding their parents and creating new bonds with their blood relatives, to childhood loves re-connecting, and unique one-of-a-kind family treasures (medals, bibles, photos) being reunited with their families. I pray that once again our community can assist you with reconnecting with your daughter.
