Aaron Deshazo

Aaron Deshazo was born to John Deshazo and Mahala Willoughby Deshazo. He married Margaret Louise Winter on October 29, 1864, and they were married until Margaret's death circa 1878. They had children John W Deshazo, Samuel Deshazo, Harriett Deshazo, and Parmer Neal Deshazo. He also married Letha Pate, and they had a child Millie Deshazo.

Aaron was a Civil War Veteran, serving in the 10th Regiment GA Infantry, Company I. According to his military registration, he had dark complexion, dark hair and grey eyes, standing 5 feet 10 inches tall. He also served in Knoxville, TN on November 14, 1865 under Major General Thomas. He is on the following census records: 1850 Pike Co., GA home of his maternal uncle, Solomon Willoughby; 1870 Greene Co., TN with wife & children; 1880 as Aaron Deshazon in Crawford Co., AR. He was granted a land patent (sect. 30, Range 31) in Township #12 (140 acres) for $10.00 Certificate no. 18660 in 1888 under Aaron Deshasier. In 1894, the U.S. Dept. of Patents of the Land Management Co., cancelled the patent. No specific reason is stated. It is my suspiscion that this is about when his wife, Margaret Louise died. He is last seen in 1891 regarding the arrest of a Samuel Deshazer (possibly his son). Samuel was arrested by Ft. Smith Sherrif based on two witness accounts of Sam threatening to kill Aaron.
