She had children Edward Bonaventure Heffernan Brotchie, Edgar Heffernan Brotchie, Elsie Esther Heffernan (Brotchie) Foster, Ada (Brotchie) Chalmers, Richard Brotchie, Rose McGain, Victoria Brotchie, and Ruby Grenfell. Ada Brotchie died at age 83 years old on January 8, 1954 in Sassafras, VIC, and was buried at Melbourne General Cemetery, College Cres, in Parkville, Melbourne City County.
