Ada Margaret (Edwards) Harley was born in 1865 to Robert Langdon Edwards and Elizabeth Edwards ( Hills, and had siblings Charles Langdon Edwards, Victor Langdon Edwards, Lizzie Langdon Wilson ( Edwards, and Robert Henry Langdon Edwards. She married Alex Harley, and had a child Ada Coombs. Ada Harley died at age 93 years old on April 28, 1959, and was buried at Footscray Cemetery in Yarraville, Maribyrnong City County, VIC Australia.

In 1865, in the year that Ada Margaret Langdon Harley ( Edwards was born, on January 31st, the Thirteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution was narrowly passed by the House (it was passed by the Senate over nine months earlier). The 13th Amendment outlawed slavery and involuntary servitude - the exception being for punishment for a crime.

In 1882, by the time she was 17 years old, on April 3rd, 34 year old outlaw Jesse James was shot in the back of the head by trusted friend and partner Robert Ford. Suspected of colluding with the Governor of Missouri, brothers Robert and Charley Ford were arrested, indicted, plead guilty, sentenced to be hung - then pardoned by the Governor. All in one day.
