Agatha Breitkreutz 1916 - 1989

Agatha Breitkreutz was born on August 2, 1916 at Valentine, Nebraska to Louis Breitkreutz and Anna Heller, and had siblings Laura Breitkreutz, Elenor Breitkreutz, and Leroy Breitkreutz. She married Lawerance Masters on December 15, 1954, and they were married until Lawerance's death on November 3, 1973 in Casper, Natrona County, Wyoming United States. They had children Debra Masters and Tommie Joe Masters. She would also marry Dennis Phillis, and they were married until death separated them. They had children Gary Phillis and Pamela Phillis. Agatha Breitkreutz died at age 73 years old in 1989 at Casper, Wyoming.

In 1916, in the year that Agatha Breitkreutz was born, the U.S. National Park Service - part of the Department of the Interior - was created by an act of Congress in August. The Park Service was charged with the dual role of "preserving the ecological and historical integrity of the places entrusted to its management while also making them available and accessible for public use and enjoyment". In 1921, she was just 5 years old when on November 11th, the first burial was held at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery. The body of an unknown soldier - selected by Army Sgt. Edward F. Younger who was highly decorated for valor and received the Distinguished Service Cross in "The Great War" - was brought back from France (World War 1) and placed in the newly completed tomb. President Warren G. Harding officiated at the interment ceremonies.
