She had siblings Elizabeth Jane (Kay) Grady, Annetta Kay, John William Kay, Percival Cyril Mark Kay, Catherine (Kay) Steward, Lucia Harriet (Kay) Whatmore, and Albert Ezra Kay. She married John Alfred Michell in 1901, and had children Mary Agnes Michell, Thomas James Michell, Thomas James Michell, Fran Edmd Michell, and Francis Edmond Michell. Agnes Michell died at age 58 years old on May 28, 1938 in Ballarat.

Lasting 13½ hours before burning out, it used a "a carbon filament or strip coiled and connected to platina contact wires".
