Albert Walser 1877 - 1957

Albert Walser was born in 1877 to Benjamin F. Walser Sr and Josephine (Poppenmeyer) Walser, and had siblings William Walser, Frank J Walser, Anthony Walser, Henry C. Walser, Benjamin F Walser Jr, Charles Frederick Walser, Josephine (Walser) Lahme, and George Walser. He married Agatha Magdalina “Aggie” (Neubecker) Walser in 1903, and had children Clarence John Walser and Alberta Marie (Walser) Snead. Albert Walser died at age 80 years old in 1957 in Illinois United States.

In 1877, in the year that Albert Walser was born, on January 8th, the Battle of Wolf Mountain occurred in southern Montana Territory. Crazy Horse, Two Moon, and their warriors fought the United States Cavalry. The battle was a tactical draw and by May, Crazy Horse and his followers had surrendered at Camp Robinson.

In 1898, Albert was 21 years old when on March 24th, Robert Allison of Pennsylvania became the first person to buy an American-built car. He bought a Winton, which he had seen in an advertisement in Scientific American. The Winton, built in Ohio, was made by hand and came with a leather roof, padded seats, gas lamps, and tires made by B.F. Goodrich.
