    MRS. JOSEPHINE WALSER, ONE OF THE OLD GERMAN RESIDENTS OF DECATUR, DIED AT ST. MARYS HOSPITAL AT 4:30 SUNDAY MORNING AGED SEVENTY FIVE YEARS. SHE HAD BEEN ILL FOR SEVEN WEEKS. SHE WAS BORN AT EHERBACH, NUREMEIG , GERMANY, SEPT 6, 1836. WHEN SHE WAS TWENTY YEARS OLD SHE WAS MARRIED TO BENJAMIN WALSER IN HER NATIVE TOWN. THEY CAME TO AMERICA SHORTLY AFTERWARD AND SETTLED ON A FARM NEAR IVESDALE. THEY MOVED TO DECATUR A FEW YEARS LATER AND THIS HAS BEEN HER HOME FOR OVER FIFTY YEARS. SHE WAS AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF ST. JAMES GERMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH AND WAS HIGHLY RESPECTED. SHE IS SURVIVED BY THE FOLLOWING CHILDREN: ANTHONY, BENJAMIN, CHARLES, MRS. JOSEPHINE LAHME, FRANK AND ALBERT WALSER ALL OF DECATUR. HENRY C WALSER OF DENVER AND WILLIAM WALSER OF E PEORIA. TWO OTHER CHILDREN HAVE DIED. SHE ALSO LEAVES TWENTY ONE GRANDCHILDREN AND TWO GREAT GRANDCHILDREN. THE BODY WAS REMOVED TO THE HOME OF HER DAUGHER, MRS. H. F. LAHME, 462 E DECATUR STREET. MRS. WALSER RESIDED FOR MANY YEARS AT 506 S WEBSTER STREET. HER MAIDEN NAME WAS JOSEPHINE POPPENMEYER.HER HUSBAND WAS THE LATE BENJAMIN WALSER WHO DIED AT THE AGE OF FIFTY TWO YEARS AND TEN MONTHS. THE FUNERAL WILL BE HELD AT 9 O'CLOCK TUESDAY MORNING AT ST. JAMES CHURCH. THE SERVICES WILL BE CONDUCTED BY REV. FATHER OSTENDORF. THE INTERMENT WILL BE IN CALVARY.
