Alice Irene (Jaensch) Richards of Ararat, Ararat Rural City County, VIC Australia was born in 1900 in Beaufort, Pyrenees Shire County to Henry Wyatt Jaensch and Mary Ann Brierley Jaensch. She had siblings William Henry Jaensch, Mary Eileen Jaensch, Veronica May (Jaensch) Smith, Robert Augustus Jaensch, Margaret Rose Jaensch, Frank George Jaensch, and Effie Elizabeth Jaensch. She married Harold Percy Richards in 1922, and had children Harold John Richards, Patricia Mary Richards, and Raymond Francis Richards. Alice Richards died at age 83 years old in 1983 in Ararat, Ararat Rural City County.

In 1900, in the year that Alice Irene Jaensch was born, when Floradora opened on Broadway. A huge success in London - opening in 1899 and running for 455 performances - the musical was even more successful in New York - running for 552 performances. The "Floradora girls" were the hit of the show - a "sextette of tall, gorgeous damsels, clad in pink walking costumes, black picture hats and carrying frilly parasols who swished onto the stage and captivated New York for no other reason than they were utterly stunning" ("tall and gorgeous" translated to 5'4"). A sensation, each Floradora girl was said to have married a millionaire.

It had previously taken 12 hours to assemble a whole vehicle - now it took only two hours and 30 minutes! Inspired by the production lines at flour mills, breweries, canneries and industrial bakeries, along with the disassembly of animal carcasses in Chicago’s meat-packing plants, Ford created moving belts for parts and the assembly line was born.
