She was married to Henry Wyatt Jaensch in 1887, and had children William Henry Jaensch, Margaret Rose Jaensch, Mary Eileen Jaensch, Veronica May (Jaensch) Smith, Robert Augustus Jaensch, Alice Irene Jaensch, Effie Elizabeth Jaensch, and Frank George Jaensch. Mary Jaensch died at age 78 years old on September 11, 1942 in Ararat, Ararat Rural City County.

In 1863, in the year that Mary Ann Brierley Jaensch was born, on January 1st, President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation. The Proclamation made the abolition of slavery in the Confederate states an official war goal. It also immediately freed 50,000 slaves, with the rest freed as Union armies advanced into Confederate states. The Proclamation wasn't a Congressional law - it was an Executive Order.
