He had four siblings: three sisters, Dorothea Marie (1906 - 1991), Augusetta "Angenette" (born 1909), and Ruth Elizabeth "Harriet" (1914 - 2013), and one brother, Raymond "Walter" (born 1911). On his 1940 World War II draft card, Alois was married and was described as being 5 feet 6 inches tall and as weighing 160 pounds. He had blue eyes, black hair, and a "light" complexion.

STEGER, ALOIS C., 71, of Tampa and formerly of Largo, died Sunday (June 9, 1985). Born in Milwaukee, he came to the Tampa Bay area in 1968 and was a bartender for many years. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Tampa. Survivors include his wife Ann M.; two sons, Allen Jl, Tampa, and Andrew B., Lakeland; a brother Walter, and three sisters, Angenette, Harriet and Dorothy, all of Milwaukee, and three grandchildren. Christian Cremation Society. - Tampa Bay Times (St. Petersburg, Florida) Wednesday, June 12, 1985 on page 28.

My grandpa!

I was young when he died, but my father, his son, Andrew Steger told me great stories about him and I wish I got to know him better I just wanted to write that I miss him and I love him and I think he was a great man

I read your comment and it resonated with me because my maternal grandfather also died (before I was born) and before I had the chance to know him but there were plenty of stories about him. So I added everything that I could find in my genealogical resources and I hope what I found (including his obituary) adds to your knowledge.
