Ab Parker was born on August 29, 1908 to Jessie Rushing Parker and William Franklin Parker, and had siblings Mae L. Wyatt, WILMA ALEXANDER, Thomas Parker, Juanita Helen (Parker) Moore, Veta Earline (Parker) Evans, and William Parker. He married Mary Oleta (Mize) Parker, and they were married until Mary's death on January 15, 1985. He married Bonnie Agnes Whisenant (Taggart) Parker in August 1987, and they were married until ab's death on January 28, 2000.

    A.B. Parker ROTAN— A.B. Parker, 91, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000. Services are 4 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Werth Mayes and Chris Powell officiating. Burial in Belvieu Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee Funeral Home. Mr. Parker was born in Royston and was a lifelong resident of Fisher County. He was the local fire chief for 32 years and a Barber. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Lions Club. He married Oleta Mize in 1928; she preceded him in death. He married Bonnie Whisenat in 1987. Survivors include his wife, of Rotan; one daughter, Alta B. Hinson of Rotan; three sisters, Wilma Alexander of Littlefield, Veta Evans of Leonard, Juanita Moore of Roby; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Produced from 1908 through 1927, it first sold for $850 - which made it affordable for every middle class family. Previously, cars were the province of the upper class and the introduction of the Model T and its availability changed U.S. culture. Within days of its release, over 15,000 cars had been ordered.

In 1913, when he was merely 5 years old, Henry Ford installed the first moving assembly line for the mass production of an entire automobile. It had previously taken 12 hours to assemble a whole vehicle - now it took only two hours and 30 minutes! Inspired by the production lines at flour mills, breweries, canneries and industrial bakeries, along with the disassembly of animal carcasses in Chicago’s meat-packing plants, Ford created moving belts for parts and the assembly line was born.
