Amelia Posmontier Dies, Jewish Leader
Mrs. Amelia Posmontier, former chairman of the Center City Chapter, American Jewish Congress, died Sunday in the Moss Rehabilitation Home. She was 78 and lived at 4227 Osage Avenue.
The former Amelia Rappaport, she was a concert singer in the area about 45 years ago. She was active in the Bonds for Israel drive.
Mrs. Posmontier had owned the Posmont, a summer hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and later operated The Spreading Oak, a hotel in Arden, Delaware.
Surviving are a son, Walter J.; a sister, Mrs. Esther Paul, and three grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the Chelten Hills Abbey, 1701 E. Washington Lane. Burial will be private.
