Mr. and Mrs. Samual Youngquist
I've "rescued" an old photograph of Mr. & Mrs. Samuel YOUNGQUIST which was taken at the Seattle Photo & Art Co. Studio in Seattle, Washington. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1890's with the couple appearing to be in their teens to 30's at the time the photograph was taken. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding this family:
Samuel “Sam” YOUNGQUIST was b. 1864 in Sweden to parents Alfred August JUNGQUIST (b. 1833) and Johanna Anders SVENSEN (1835-1901). Sam was one of 7 children born to this couple including, Alfred Augustan; John; Sam; Christina; Frank; Claus; and Anna JUNQUIST, all born between 1857 and 1878. Sam became a naturalized citizen on 8 Dec 1892 and married Anna or Annie Maria ENGLUND (1881-1973) on 28 Mar 1897 in King County, WA. Sam died of TB on 5 Jan 1922 in Meridian, WA and is buried in the Hillcrest Burial Park in Kent, WA. Sam and Anna had 3 children together including, Henry Benjamin; Robert Samuel; and Cora E. YOUNGQUIST, all born between 1898 and 1904.
His wife Anna (b. 1881 in Sweden) married again after Sam’s death to Sam J. BERG (1871-1949) and she died 18 May 1973 in Renton, WA and is buried along with Sam in the Hillcrest Burial Park in Kent, WA. Their daughter Cora married Mr. MELVILLE.
