THE CAT CAME BACK
("The Sun's" Special Representative)
VANCOUVER, Tuesday Night.
The "Cadillac Cat" has arrived at San Francisco by the steamer Sonoma. She was met at the dock by a corps of newspaper men and a battery of cameras. The cat was in charge of Mr. Clifford Poole, of Sydney.
The Cadillac Cat has achieved an international fame; and If the news of its extraordinary adventure and the inevitable publicity that followed gets around among its fellow cats, there will be an increase In feline stowaways.
This cat stowed away in the engine -of a boxed Cadillac car, bound for Sydney: and after a period of seven weeks was found in the crate still alive.
It was carefully cared for, and was soon able to sit up and catch rats. Meantime, the Customs Department got busy. The cat was a prohibited immigrant, and was ordered to ho deported. But its return' journey was more comfortable than its first trip. It was insured for £1000,- and a special
feline dietary for it on shipboard was provided.
