He was a WW II Army Veteran, a member of the Elmwood Park Senior Citizens Club, and a parishioner of St. Anne's R.C. Church, Fair Lawn. Predeceased by his first wife Rosina, two sons Peter and Anthony, a grandson Peter DeGennaro, and his parents Giuseppe and Grazielle. Beloved husband of Helen Ruth (Menist). Devoted father of Joseph DeGennaro and wife Vita of Farmingdale, Grace Nardino and husband Arthur of Long Valley; and Anne Emerson of Tempe, AZ. Dear step-father of Robert Menist and wife Gayle of Fair Lawn. Special father-in-law of Rose DeGennaro of Bangor, ME. Loving grandfather of Wendy Gonzales, Joseph, Anthony and Kayla DeGennaro; Arthur and Michael Nardino; and Eric and Evan Menist; and ten great-grandchildren. Cherished brother of Vincent, Morris and Ignatius DeGennaro. Funeral Thursday 9:15 AM at Santangelo Funeral Home, 300 N. Main St., Lodi, then to St. Anne's R.C. Church for a 10:30 AM Funeral Mass. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday 4-8 PM.
