Anthony was a first generation Italian-American of Italian heritage on his maternal and paternal lines. His father, Vincenzo, was born in Tresilico, Calabria, Italy and his mother, Michelina, was born in San Felice, Italy.

Anthony attended Oceanside High School in Oceanside, New York. Later, he was a graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York and the New York State College for Teachers in Albany, New York.
Religious Beliefs

Anthony's funeral was at Mt. Sinai Congregational Church in Mount Sinai, New York. This church was founded in 1789 and is a historical part of the community of Mount Sinai and welcomes all community members. When Anthony and Audrey married, they said their vows in St. Agnes Catholic Church in Rockville Centre, New York.
Professional Career

Anthony was the retired Principal of Earl L. Vandermeulen High School in Port Jefferson, New York. Earl L. Vandermeulen High School currently graduates 100% of its student body and ranks in the tope 5% of public schools in New York. It was named after Earl L. Vandermuelen, who was the principal of the school from 1923 to 1960.
Personal Life & Family

Antonio Luigi Prochilo was born to Vincenzo Prochilo (1896 - 1945) and Michelina Spadanuda (1906 - 1999). Both of his parents were born in Italy. Anthony had eight siblings: two brothers and six sisters. On his World War II draft card, when he was 18 years old, Anthony was described as being 5 feet 10 inches tall and as weighing 160 pounds. He had brown eyes, brown hair, and a "dark" complexion. Anthony Prochilo married Audrey Stuart Fisher (1928 - 2016) on October 13th, 1951 in St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hempstead, New York. Dear brother of Clem, Sis, Vinny, Lena, Fanny, and Lou. Friends may call at the Bryant funeral Home, Inc., 411 Old Town Road, Setauket. Visiting hours Saturday and Sunday 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 P.M. Funeral Services Monday, 10 A.M. at the Mt. Sinai Congregational Church. Cremation services to be held in private.
