Anthony's parents were John George Sage (1867 - 1912) and Annie Elizabeth Cazaly (1865 - 1912). He had 8 siblings: Stella, George, Douglas, Frederick, Dorothy, Elizabeth, Constance, and Thomas. In the 1901 England Census, Anthony was 2 and living with his parents and Stilla (sic), George, Douglas, Frederick, and Dorothy in Gaywood, Norfolk, England. Dad was listed as a publican. The entire family booked passage on the maiden voyage of the Titanic, third class passenger, and the entire family perished. Anthony's body was recovered and buried at sea on 22 April 1912.

The family owned a huge farm in their hometown. They were one of the English speaking 3rd class families on the Titanic. Anthony's body was soon recovered by Mackay-Bennett then buried at sea on April 22, 1912.

From Find A Grave: Master Anthony William Sage, 12yrs old, the son of John George Sage and Annie Elizabeth Cazaly.He boarded the Titanic at Southampton as a third class passenger together with his parents and siblings: Stella, George, Douglas, Frederick, Dorothy, Ada, Constance and Thomas.The entire family died in the disaster. The body of Will Sage was recovered by the MacKay Bennett (#67) and buried at sea on 22 April 1912.

In 1899, in the year that Anthony William Sage was born, on February 14th, the first voting machines were approved by Congress for use in federal elections. Several states were already using voting machines in their elections and the Federal government was finally convinced of their safety and accuracy.

In 1900, at the age of merely 1 year old, Anthony was alive when the U.S. helped put down Boxer Rebellion. The Boxer Rebellion took place in China, where the presence of "outsiders" (foreigners) was resented. The United States, along with Austria-Hungary, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, and Russia, had business interests in China and these countries all sent troops to put down the Rebellion and keep China open to their presence and to Christian missionaries.

In 1902, when he was only 3 years old, the first Rose Bowl game was played in Pasadena, California. Called the "Tournament East–West football game" at the time, the Michigan Wolverines (East) played the Stanford Indians (West) - the Wolverines won 49 - 0. (The Stanford captain requested an end to the game with 8 minutes remaining.) The Tournament of Roses Parade began in 1890 and the football game began as a way to boost tourism in the area.

In 1912, in the year of Anthony William Sage's passing, the Girl Scouts of the USA was started by Juliette Gordon Low with the help of Sir Robert Baden-Powell, the founder of Boy Scouts in Great Britain. She said after a meeting with Baden-Powell, "I've got something for the girls of Savannah, and all of America, and all the world, and we're going to start it tonight!" And she did.
