    Bertha Wilhelmina Lange was the daughter of August Carl Frederick Lange and Pauline Weber Lange. They had 4 children: Adolf, Bertha Hake, Ida Augusta Cors and Augusta M Allen. Bertha married Edward Hake on 10/6/1887. Together they had 7 children: Alma Ida Hartwig, Alfred Rollin, Marilla Kutz, Myrtle Johnson, Edna Luther, Rollin and Wilmer.

    Mrs. Edward Hake dies following short illness. Mrs. Edward Hake passed away at her home on South Main street, Jefferson, Sunday, April 10, 1932 at 2 a.m. She had been il since the previous Wednesday, uremin (kidney failure) being the cause of her death. She reached the age of 62 years. Bertha Lange was born in Jefferson, WI, March 17, 1870, being a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Lange. She was married to Edward Hake of Jefferson on October 6, 1887. Mrs. Hake was a woman of strong Christian character, patient, loving and self-sacrificing. Her sudden departure from this life has brought much sorrow into the peaceful home which she leaves and to the community generally. Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Alma Hartiwg and Mrs. Edna Luther, both of Fort Atkinson; three sons, Alfred of LaGrange, WI., Rollin of Milwaukee and Wilmer at home; two sisters, Mrs. Augusta Allan of Fall River and Mrs. Ida Cors of Minnesota; and one brother, Adolph Lange of Minnesota. Two daughters preceded her in death. Funeral services were held at the home Wednesday afternoon at 2:30, the Rev. J. F. Nienstedt, officiating. Burial took place in Rock River cemetery. Pallbearers were her three sons, Wilmer, Rollin and Alfred and her three son-in-laws, Ernest Kutz, Otto Hartwig and Will Luther.
