Bertie C (Honroth) Yahraus 1881 - 1967

Bertie C (Honroth) Yahraus was born in 1881 in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio United States to Clara Honroth and John Phillip Honroth, and had siblings Edward P Honroth, Florence (Honroth ) Robbins, John Phillip Honroth Jr, Pearl (Honroth) Stangel, Ada (Honroth) Baron, Arthur C Honroth, Irene M (Honroth) Wachtell, Earl Honroth, and Clarence T Honroth. She married Valentine E Yahraus on February 14, 1901, and they were married until Valentine's death on November 1, 1952. She had children Wilbert V. Yahraus, Erwin Oscar Yahraus, and Raymond Yahraus. Bertie Yahraus died at age 85 years old on November 26, 1967 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, and was buried on November 28, 1967 at Knollwood Cemetery Association 1678 Som Center Rd - Section 27, Lot 981, in Mayfield Heights.

In 1881, in the year that Bertie C (Honroth) Yahraus was born, on November 19th, a meteorite landed a few miles southwest of Odessa, Ukraine. According to one report: "About 7 o'clock one morning a bright and serpentine tail of fire was seen passing over the town by the inhabitants of Odessa, and M. Prendel, editor of one of the Odessa papers, surmising that the phenomenon betokened a fall of meteorites, offered a reward to any person who would bring him one. Three days afterward a gentleman of Grossliebental brought him one which had been found by a peasant who was nearly frightened out of his senses at its fall. It fell beside him while at work in his field and buried itself .55 meters (almost 2 ft) into the ground." The recovered piece was about 17.5 lbs.
