  • Obituary

Known mostly as "Mother Holmes" to all her students, my mother was a retired teacher, having taught English and Latin in the Greenup County school system for 30 years. Prior to the new Greenup High School she taught at the McKell High School in South Shore, Kentucky. She also taught early in her career in Minford, Ohio for two years. She was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University and a member of the South Shore First Methodist Church; Eastern Star Radiance Chapter 427; National Education Association; Kentucky Education Association and the Greenup County Eduction Association. My mother kept our family together and we lost so much with her passing. I want to keep her memories alive through many 8mm and videotapes that I have of her. I hope to post some here soon. I have several posted over on youtube. Just do a search for Mother Holmes and you will find them. I receive comments and emails from her students every so often.
