William Holmes
About me:
I am William (Bill) Holmes III from South Shore, Kentucky. My parents were William C. Holmes Jr., principal of Sunshine Elementary School in South Shore, Ky and my mother was Betty Jo Holmes, who was English & Latin Teacher for Mckell High School and Greenup County High School. I am searching for all relatives from both sides of my family. From the Holmes side there are Crawford, Richardson and on my mother's side there are Dickison, May. Any other family names associated would be very beneficial as most of my family is now deceased. I will add photos and update family as I discover them. Thank you.
About my family:
I haven't shared details about my family.

2020 marks 20 years since the inception of AncientFaces. We are the same team who began this community so long ago. Over the years it feels, at least to us, that our family has expanded to include so many. Thank you!

William Clay Holmes Jr was born to William Clay Holmes Sr (1903-1984) and Aileen Elizabeth Crawford (1908-1999). His father had a diverse career, working as a boxer, tavern keeper, cook, bus driver, steel mill crane operator, and daring stuntman, while his mother was a teacher.
After graduating from McKell High School in South Shore, Greenup County, Kentucky, USA, on May 11, 1942, William continued his education at Morehead Teachers College for two years. There, he studied subjects including College Algebra, Botany, Biology, Chemistry, and Dairy Science.
