Nolte Family Reunion - Hampton, IA 1922

The Nolte Family Reunions were popular and well attended in the early 1920's. Only about four people in this photograph have been positively identified, however. It is entirely possible that the father of a rather well-known actor could be in this photo. If he attended the reunion, he would have been age 18. However, he is not one of the few people who have been positively identified. Two people who are known, however, are the elderly couple just to the right of the middle of the group. The husband has the pointed, white beard and he is staring off to the right. His wife is to his right (we see her on the left) and is in the light dress. This couple is Rev. Ernest Ludwig Henry Nolte and his wife, Carrie (Gurney) Nolte. He was born 12 Sep 1854 in Stroit, Braunschweig, Germany -- his given name in his native language would have been Ernst. He died about 1947. His wife was born in 1858 in Freeport, Stephenson Co., IL and died in 1934.
