I have an old studio photograph of Charles BIENEMAN which was taken at the Billinger & Bro. Studio in Shenandoah, PA in the 1890's. Charles appears to be in his teens or 20's at the time the photograph was taken. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Charles and his family:
Charles “Charlie” Frederich or Frederick BIENEMAN or BEINEMAN or BINNEMAN or BIENAN or BIENEMANN was b. 10 May 1871 in Alsace-Lorraine, Germany to parents Jean Charles BIENEMAN (1844-1915) and Catherine or Katherine MEHL (b. 1843). Charles was one of 5 children born to this couple including Charles Frederich; John; Anna M.; William Henry; and Ellen A. BIENEMAN. Charles married Martha “MAGGIE” BEES (1873-1958) on 2 Jul 1896, and they had four children including John Bees; Ruth Amelia; Hilda Mae; and Margaret Anna BIENEMAN, all born between 1900 and 1908.
Charles worked for the Bethlehem Steel Company until he retired in 1938. Charles died 2 May 1955 in Bethlehem or Fountain Hill, PA and he is buried in the Mausoleum Memorial Park in Bethlehem, PA. His obituary lists his surviving family including his wife, Martha; daughters Hilda VAN BILLIARD of Evanston, IL; and Margaret LAUBACH of Bethlehem, PA; and a sister Mrs. Elmer BROWN of Weatherly, PA.
I’d like to locate someone from the family so that his photograph can be placed in their care. If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley
