He had siblings Alfred Lloyd, Emily Jane (Lloyd) Gurrie, Maria Ellen Lloyd, Arthur Ernest Lloyd, Frederick William Lloyd, James Lloyd, John Henry Lloyd, George Thomas Lloyd, and Albert Lloyd. He married Ellen Cowap Lloyd in 1894, and had children Laura Hermina Lloyd, Gertrude Veronica Lloyd, Charles Wilfred Lloyd, Sidney Harold Lloyd, and Lindsay Gordon Lloyd. Charles Lloyd died at age 56 years old on March 5, 1918 in South Yarra.
