He had siblings Francis George Heanden, Ethel Harriet Middlecoat, Arthur Herbert Hearnden, Ruby Mabel Hearnden, Harry Hearndon, Archibald John Hearnden, and Frederick William Hearnden. Charles Hearnden died at age 68 years old in 1948 in South Melbourne.
