WELL KNOWN DESLOGE CITIZEN DIED SATURDAY Chas. Shelton Bryan, son of the late Wm. and Emma C. Bryan, was born at Big River Mills, Mo., Nov. 17, 1879, and died at his home in Desloge, Mo., May 4, 1935. Funeral services were conducted Monday, May 6th, at 2:30 P. M., at the Desloge Methodist Church by Rev. I. C. Bradsher, and Rev. H. C. Hoy, lifelong friends of the deceased. Interment was at the Masonic cemetery at Bonne Terre, the Masons taking charge of the services there. In 1901, the deceased was united in marriage to Bessie Eaton. To this union one son, Shelton, was born. Mrs. Bryan passed away in 1906. In 1912, he was again united in marriage to Audrey Cook, and to this union four children were born: Mary, Billy Henry, who died at the age of six years, Robert Wayne, and Dorothy June, who with his wife and mother survive. At the age of fourteen, Mr. Bryan moved to Desloge and had since made his home there, where he was busy with the business, fraternal, and church life of the community. He was a member of Ionic Lodge No. 164, A. F. and A. M., and of the Scottish Rite of the George Judson Hess Class of 1926. He was also a member of the Desloge Methodist Church and was chairman of the board of stewards. Mr. Bryan had been in ill health for some time, having been confined to his home and bed for the past six months. However, he bore his suffering with great patience and fortitude, confident of his reward in a better world. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Audrey Bryan, and the following children: Mary (Mrs. Melvin) Giessing, of Farmington; Robert Wayne and Dorothy June, at home; two grandchildren, Gloria Jean Giessing, of Farmington, and Katherine Rae Bryan, of St. Louis; one sister, Mrs. Ella Bryan Wernlie, of Lemars, Iowa, and one brother, Marvin Bryan, of Desloge, to all whom we join in extending deepest sympathy.
