  • Introduction

    Charles Suddeth was my paternal great, great grandfather. He was a steelworker and helped to build the Clark Memorial Bridge, aka the 2nd Street Bridge over the Ohio River that links Louisville, Kentucky with Clarksville, Indiana. He lost the vision in one of his eyes when someone dropped a red-hot rivet from above and he wore a glass eye for the rest of his life. He lived with his wife Lula Mae Knowland and their children on Oak Street at Howard Park in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
