Introduction

Elnora L Suddeth, daughter of Lula Mae Knowland and Charles Suddeth married my paternal grandfather, Harry Zachariah Robbins, son of William Thomas Robbins and Addie Pate on February 15, 1936 in Clarksville, Clark County, Indiana. There was one child from this union, my father, Charles William Robbins, Sr., who was born on September 8, 1937. Harry Robbins enlisted in the army in 1941 and fought in the Battle of the Bulge, the Crossing of the Rhine and landed at Normandy on D-Day during WWII. Elnora and Harry divorced in the early 1940s. Elnora Robbins married Gerald M Ratliffe on June 8, 1946 in Kerr, Texas. There were three sons and one daughter from this union, Gerald M Ratliffe, Jr., who was known as Bud by friends and family, Glenn Ratliffe, James (Jim) Ratliffe and Linda Ratliffe. Elnora and Gerald Ratliffe divorced on April 4, 1972. She lived in Texas and Oklahoma near her sons by Gerald Ratliffe. She suffered a heart attack while living in McAlester, OK and passed away the next day. A memorial was held with her family in Oklahoma with a funeral and burial in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She is buried in Walnut Ridge Cemetery beside her brother Grant L Suddeth.
