Introduction

Chin Foo Dong's father was Wing Ark Dong (1984 - 1948), born in China, and his mother was Kow Fun Hum (1904 - 1942), also born in China. He had siblings Jin Hing and Jin Wing Dong.. He also had half sibling "Butchie" Dong. When Chin was 21, he was living in Cambridge, where he was born, and was just discharged. His father was listed as his next of kin. He was 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighed 165 pounds, had black eyes, black hair, and a "dark" complexion Chin married Helen Wong (1926 - 2011). They had Carol Jean Dong and a son, Jin W. Dong. Chin married again and had two daughters. Inscribed on his headstone: CHIN FOO DONG AM 3 US NAVY WORLD WAR II MAR 29 1925- OCT 23 1976 See Chin Foo Dong Gravesite A World War II veteran, Chin was best known by the name George.
