    Clarence Melvin Olson age 84, of Ham Lake, MN formerly of Menahga, MN died Saturday, April 3, 2010 at his home in Ham Lake. Clarence was born to Leonard and Emma (Peterson) Olson on November 8, 1925 in Becker County, MN where he was raised and attended school. Upon completing his schooling he worked for the Railroad until entering the United States Army on December 5, 1944. Clarence was honorable discharged December 7, 1946. He went to work for the Sioux Line Railroad and then for Amstan and Apolo Plumbing retiring in 1990. Clarence was united in marriage to Geraldine Fischer on January 16, 1954 in Minneapolis, MN five children were born to this union. Clarence was an active member of the Menahga United Methodist. He was a member of the VFW and the VFW Color Guard and Local Teamsters Whole Sale Plumbing Supply. Clarence was active in the Menahga community were he drove the Senior Citizens Bus and delivered Meals on Wheels. Clarence is survived by his wife Geraldine Olson of Ham Lake, MN; one daughter Maryann Graba and her husband Keith of Spring Lake Park, MN; four sons, David Olson and his wife Debbie of Andover, MN Dean Olson and his wife Penney of Andover, MN Duane Olson and his wife Karla of St. Anthony, MN; Darren Olson and Shelly Nyland of Coon Rapids, MN; and Joe Neubauer of Brooklyn Park, MN; seven grandchildren, Jamie Olson and his wife Jessica of St Paul, MN; Michael Olson and his wife Katie of Andover, Deanna Olson of Andover, MN; Brittany Olson of St. Anthony, MN; Justin Olson of St. Anthony, MN; Emma Olson of Andover, MN; Zakry Olson of Coon Rapids, MN and Alex and Nick Robinson of Coon Rapids, MN three sisters, Elaine Makela of Menahga, MN; Eloise Pulju and her husband Alvin of Menahga, MN; Delores Charmoli and her husband Joe of Menahga, MN and many other relative and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Emma Olson, one sister Mavis Moorehouse, four brothers Lavern, Russell, Melvin and Floyd and one grandchild Jeremy Olson. Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, April 10, 2010 at Sebeka United Methodist Church with visitation two hours prior to the service at the church. Pastor Loren Ferch will officiate. Linda Roiko will serve as organist. Ray Seibert will solo “The Old Rugged Cross.” Congregational hymns will be “Amazing Grace,” “Precious Lord take My Hand” and “Just a Closer Walk with Thee.” Honorary Pallbearers are Zakry Olson and Alex and Nick Robinson. Active Casketbearers are David Olson, Dean Olson, Duane Olson, Darren Olson, Joe Neubauer, Keith Graba, Michael Olson and Justin Olson. Guy L. McDermeit VFW Post 6206 of Menahga, MN will provide Military Honors. Interment will be at the Menahga City Cemetery.
