Clarence Wheelhouse married Evelyn Beatrice Taylor in 1935, and died at age 87 years old on October 17, 1996 in Mooroopna, Greater Shepparton City County.

In 1909, in the year that Clarence Oswald Wheelhouse was born, the U.S. penny was changed to the Abraham Lincoln design. The Lincoln penny was so popular that it soon had to be rationed and it sold on the secondary market for a quarter.
