  • Introduction

Dad was a great Father. He loved his family and would do anything to help them at any time. He married Hazel Merlene Cooper and had 4 children: Alan Williams, Pam Williams Gordon, Debbie Williams Waymire, and Cindy Williams Cordell. He has 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. They all loved their "Grampster", you can ask any of them about him singing the "Crawdad Song" and they will be all smiles. He had a great love of baseball, and his favorite past time was watching the Mariners play. We managed to snag some play off tickets, and he was thrilled. Dad was a hard worker, and always took care of his family. He worked for 27 years at Alcoa. Our family lived briefly in Leavenworth when Dad worked for Dorothy Tittas as an orchard boss. We moved briefly to Wenatchee, (Bryan Street) then they purchased a home at 124 N. Joseph in East Wenatchee. We only stayed there a couple of years, then moved to 1561 S. E. 1st street in East Wenatchee. Dad loved his yard and took great pride in it. He also still had the bug to have his own orchard, and planted 40 dwarf apple trees in our backyard. He then had a chance to purchase a real orchard at 2810 N. E. 10th street in East Wenatchee. It only had a basement on it, so he purchased a mobile home and put in on top of it. He was there for several years, enjoying the orchard and fixing up the property. He sold it...twice, and then moved to the corner of 9th and Lyle in East Wenatchee. They stayed there for several years, enjoying the swimming pool and entertaining friends. Dad then sold the house and eventually purchased the home at 1907 Northfield Place. He especially enjoyed this home, because it was located directly behind his parents home that they had built. Dad could always be found outside, either in the yard, or building something in the garage. He enjoyed building birdhouses, and mom would decorate them. Mom and Dad helped out with babysitting, especially their great grand daughter Rachel. Dad enjoyed his special time with Rachel when they drove home from school together. Rachel would con him into stopping at McDonald's often. Dad was diagnosed with cancer and fought a long hard battle until the day he died. His son-in-law, Gilbert Gordon, also died of cancer 10 days later. He too, worked at Alcoa. Dad is greatly missed by all who knew him.
