Clifford was in the British Army for 12 yrs until the end of World War 2. He served his country and the British Crown doing service in the Middle East, Turkey, India, Burma and also in Palestine. All servicemen and women who fought in the War were gravely affected by the effects of the War, they were broken people who could not function well after the War had ended, in 1945. Sadly, their lives are a testament to the bravery they showed in their lives, but it did not last when the war was over, and these men and women returned to their loved ones their lives were already shattered from the effects of the war.
