  • Introduction

    Cyril's father was Frank Peter Wietor (1874 - 1959) and his mother was Philomena "Minnie" Serwe (1880 - 1960). Both of his parents were born in Wisconsin. He had six siblings: Lucy A, Alois John, Leo F., Isabelle O., Francis J., and Frances. A veteran of the United States Navy, Cyril served on the USS Intrepid aircraft carrier during World War II. On October 1 1947, Cyril married Marie Hanrahan in Wayne WI and they had three children: Daniel Joseph Wietor (1955-1962), Richard Wietor, and David Wietor. In the 1930 census, Cyril was 7 years old, living with his family in Wayne WI, and going to school. In the household were parents Frank and Minnie and siblings Alois, age 22, and Leo, age 20. Father Frank was the proprietor of a soft drink parlor, brother Alois was a barber, and brother Leo was a farm laborer. Ten years later, Cyril was 17 and still living with his family in Wayne WI, and had completed 2 years of high school and was still in school. He and brother Leo, age 30, were living at home. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Father Casper Rehrl Council 1964 West Bend, Our Lady of Holy Hill Assembly 1677, the Kettle Moraine Sportsman’s Club and a former member of the Kewaskum Sno-Chiefs.Cy was a charter member of Hon-E-Kor Country Club in Kewaskum and was in charge of the Monday Retired Golf League. He was active in establishing Little League in Kewaskum and was an avid golfer, hunter and bowler. He married Marie Hanrahan in Wayne WI and they had three children: Daniel Joseph Wietor (1955-1962), Richard Wietor, and David Wietor. Cyril was survived by four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Myrhum Patten Funeral and Cremation Service obituary: Cyril N. “Cy” Wietor, 84, of Kewaskum, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 8, 2007 at SynergyHealth St. Joseph’s Hospital in the town of Polk. He was born on January 11, 1923, in the town of Wayne, the son of the late Frank and Minnie (Serwe) Wietor, and on October 1, 1947, he was united in marriage to Marie Hanrahan at St. Bridget Catholic Church in the town of Wayne. Cy was a graduate of PioNono High School in Milwaukee. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy on the USS Intrepid aircraft carrier and was a member of the Robert G. Romaine American Legion Post 384 Kewaskum. He was employed by Regal Ware, Inc. in Kewaskum, retiring in 1988, after 42 years of service, and was a member of the 25 Year Club. Cy served as a village of Kewaskum trustee and president. He was an active member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum, where he served on the parish council, and was a referee for Holy Trinity Catholic School basketball. Cy will fondly be remembered for his sense of humor and will be deeply missed by his wife, his family and by all who knew him. Survivors include his wife of nearly 60 years, Marie; two sons, Richard (Mary) Wietor of Kewaskum and David (Yvonne) Wietor of West Bend; four grandchildren, Ty Wietor, Danielle (Jason) Thull, Michelle (Tony) Spaeth and Ryan Wietor; three great-grandchildren, Abigail Thull, Sydney and Christian Spaeth; three sisters-in-law, Lee Wietor and Norma Wietor both of West Bend and Patricia (Raynor) Herriges of Kewaskum; two brothers-in-law, Jerome (Myrtle) Hanrahan of West Bend and George (Mary) Hanrahan of Kewaskum, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Cy was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Joseph; two brothers, Al and Leo Wietor and a sister, Lucy (Oscar) Boegel. A Mass of Christian Burial for Cy was held at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 11, 2007 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 331 Main Street, Kewaskum. Father Edwin Kornath officiated and military rites followed Mass. Burial was at 10:00 a.m. on Monday in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends called on Sunday at the church from 2:00 p.m. until the 6:00 p.m. Mass, where a Knights of Columbus prayer service was held at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Holy Trinity Catholic School or the charity of one’s choice are appreciated.
