He married Victoria Diane Choate on February 14, 1981 in Brunswick, Cumberland County, Maine and they later divorced in 1988 in Brunswick. They had a child Danika Diann Hill. He married Diane Zavotsky on August 19, 1990 in Rangeley, Franklin County. They had children Hayley Irene McClenahan and Tess Diane McClenahan.
