    Daniel Hasenbine, Jr. was born in New York. His mother was Helen Kelly who died in her 30's of breast cancer. His father was Daniel Henry Hasenbine, Sr. His father's family originated in Rathruddy, Ireland with Patrick Fahy (1800) Patrick's son, Patrick Jr. (1851) had a daughter Catherine (1874) who married Henry Hasenbine in New York. They had 4 children, Daniel, Frank, Winifred and Catherine. Daniel married Helen Kelly and they had three children, Daniel, Catherine and Margaret, who died as a young child after being struck by a truck. Daniel, Sr. was an iron worker and an alcoholic who fell off a building and later died. Daniel, Jr. was hit while riding a motorcycle without a helmet and died after being in a coma for several months. He had married Janet Dalrymple and they had two daughters, Janet Marie and Helen Hasenbine.

She flew over 2,000 miles in just under 15 hours.
