Gloria MCGUIGAN:
Hilda was my incredible mother. She was born in obscurity on October 24, 1927 in the back country of Yara Cuba. She fled Cuba in April 1961 and due to an error on he documentation, they mistook 1927 for 1921. As a result, her legal documents all showed her birth year as 1921 instead of 1927. I wanted to tell the world about a woman that knew more hardships and challenges than most people but she was the proverbial coffee bean. When put through hot water, it changes the water into something wonderful instead of letting the hot water change it. She was loved and loved many people and my only regret is that while I was her caregiver until she passed away and made sure she had the best quality of life possible, her funeral service had a very low attendance. This has really hurt me because I feel like I failed her. She was born in obscurity and her "celebration of life" service was for all intents and purposes obscure as well. I found this website and wanted to share this with everyone then my mother's spirit spoke to me. "In the end, what matters is that those who truly love us are present to say goodbye."
George Dunne:
A true patriot - Helen Irene Dunne Heinz was one of 13 children born to an Army family at Fort Riley in Kansas. She along with her older brother ( my father ) and younger sister were sent to live with their maternal grandmother in New Jersey to ease the strain on the family. She attended nursing school in New Jersey and was a roommate with a woman who eventually became my mother. Helen served as an enlisted officer along with her surgeon husband in the Korean campaign's MASH units. She was a stunningly beautiful woman and as our family rumors have it, she was the prototype for the character of Margaret "Hot Lips" Houlihan on the TV show M.A.S.H.

Michael Terredanio:
John was my father's brother I only stayed with him for a little while in his home and Pearl City but I never forgot him he's one of the kindest people I've ever met in my life can you remind me of my father - He had the coolest smile just always laid back never to worry about nothing a good beautiful wife that cherish them in his later days I was fortunate enough to call him family never forget your it was a pleasure knowing you

Theresa Hines:
Amanda was my stepmother. - My stepmother taught me how to make wonton, introduced me to "thousand-year-old duck eggs', and gave me a yellow satin chongsum. We moved to Miami Beach from El Paso, and I remember spending days at the beach where guys would try to flirt with us because she was so pretty and looked so young they thought we were friends rather than mother and daughter! I wish I'd had more time with her, and knew more about her family in Hong Kong.

Rosemarie Sweeny:
Aunt Aida - My Aunt Aida was the wife of my Uncle John, my mother’s younger brother, the brother of my Uncles Jim and Paul. The daughter-in-law of my Grandparents, Concetta Maria and Carmelo Bivona. She was the mother of my cousins Eleana Bivona and John Bivona Jr.
She was a beautiful and wise woman. I always cherish that she told me, “Every heart knows its own sorrows.” I realized that we aren’t the only one to know and feel what touches our hearts.
