David Henry Lyte of Clifton Hill Australia was born in 1874 to Hannah Sleeth Elms and Henry William Lyte. He had siblings George Arthur Lyte, George Arthur Lyte, and Matilda Elms. He married Alice Maud (Murray) Lyte, and had children Henry Albert Lyte, George Arthur Lyte, Alice Maude Matilda Lyte, Edward Hector Lyte, Rosa May Lyte, Ivy Myrtle Lyte, and Edward Hector Lyte. David Lyte died at age 67 years old on November 19, 1942 in Melbourne, VIC, and was buried at Boroondara General Cemetery 430 High St, in Kew, City of Boroondara County.
