Lloyd-Davis Exchange Vows July 11
The following appeared in the Beatrice Daily Sun on Thursday July 27th 1950 on page 10:
Miss Dorothy Mary Lloyd, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Lloyd of Wymore, and David Zumbaum, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Zumbaum, Goodrich, N. Dakota, were united in marriage at a double ring ceremony the evening of July 11th, 1950, at 8 o'clock. Rev. Gerald Ford read the marriage lines in the presence of one hundred guests.
The altar was beautifully decorated with bouquets of white gladioli and lighted candelabra on either side. The nuptial music was played by Mrs. Charles Harman, and Norris Jernigan sang "Because" and "Oh, Perfect Love."
Bride's Gown - The bride's gown was of white embroidered organdy over yellow taffeta, fashioned with a fitted bodice, and the skirt was ballerina length. Her ensemble was completed with a small white lace hat and an orchid corsage. She carried the handkerchief her mother carried at her wedding, and her only jewelry was a pearl and rhinestone necklace, gift of the groom.
Miss Leta Cotten, serving as maid of honor, was gowned in pale blue dotted Swiss, ballerina length, and her corsage was of white carnations. The groom and his best man, Henry Beltram, were in formal attire.
Reception - Following the wedding a reception was held in the social hall of the church. The bride's table was centered with a beautiful three tiered wedding cake with top decorations of a miniature bride and groom, flanked by lighted tapers.
Mrs. Paul Boyd and Mrs. Bob Emery served cake, and Mrs. Terry Pascoe and Anita Croxen served punch. Mrs. Dale Rankin had charge of the guest book. After the reception the couple left for a trip to Nebraska and North Dakota. For traveling the bride wore a navy blue suit with white accessories.
Upon their return Mr. and Mrs. Zumbaum will be at home at 1110 11th St., Sacramento, Calif.
