David Leake was born on July 13, 1764 in Deerfield, Cumberland County, New Jersey United States to Nathan Leake and Hannah Fithian, and had siblings Amy Leake, Rachel Leake, Nathan Leake Jr., Phebe Leake, Ruth F. Leake, Rebecca Leake, and Ephraim Leake. He married Hannah Shute, and had children Mary Margaret Leake and David Leake Jr.. David Leake died at age 40 years old on November 13, 1804 in Deerfield.
